The Pamlico County Education Foundation, established in 1988, is an independent non-profit organization composed of individual, business and corporate sponsors whose common goal is that all students of public schools in Pamlico County have an opportunity to meet their academic potential.

The Foundation is non-political, with no voting members from either the Pamlico County Board of Education or the Pamlico County Commissioners. The leadership of the Foundation comes from citizens of Pamlico County.

Funds raised by the Foundation are used for the benefit of students to enrich and supplement regular programs. Funds are not used for programs currently receiving government funding, nor does the Foundation make up for cutbacks in government funding.
